OK, its been a few days since i started this piece and the first blogpost with a "work in progress", so here we go again, this time with pages from a Lexicon pasted on the background.
This has always been a favorite part of work, doing collage with newspaper or or other pattern related stuff, it makes nice structures, gives a traditional feel and gives deeper meaning into the piece if its contextually selected.
These parts were then airbrushed physically to get a "metallic" or copper -like look, something i really like is that it has a "Steampunk" feel to the parts.
These parts were findings i used to catch on fleamarkets and so.
After joining the parts and the face together it doesn´t look as promising as i hoped for, though its not finished, so everything is still possible. Experimenting with skintones and some "bloody" mouth coloring resulted in a different look than the one i was initially going for, so i got back to a more "Venezian -mask" or Kabuki -Styled facepaint.
It doesn´t look that bad at all, but still the mouth isn´t what i was going for, another revision was necessary to change the face to a more genderless "Mask"
Some days later i found a frame at my favorite artstore just waiting for that piece! It perfectly fits like gold to the face, and so here it is in its original version:
Watch out on deviantart for a manipulated wallpaper version of the final piece.
