SeeNoGood - A work in progress - part 2

OK, its been a few days since i started this piece and the first blogpost with a "work in progress", so here we go again, this time with pages from a Lexicon pasted on the background.

This has always been a favorite part of work, doing collage with newspaper or or other pattern related stuff, it makes nice structures, gives a traditional feel and gives deeper meaning into the piece if its contextually selected.
These parts were then airbrushed physically to get a "metallic" or copper -like look, something i really like is that it has a "Steampunk" feel to the parts.
These parts were findings i used to catch on fleamarkets and so.

After joining the parts and the face together it doesn´t look as promising as i hoped for, though its not finished, so everything is still possible. Experimenting with skintones and some "bloody" mouth coloring resulted in a different look than the one i was initially going for, so i got back to a more "Venezian -mask" or Kabuki -Styled facepaint.
It doesn´t look that bad at all, but still the mouth isn´t what i was going for, another revision was necessary to change the face to a more genderless "Mask"
Some days later i found a frame at my favorite artstore just waiting for that piece! It perfectly fits like gold to the face, and so here it is in its original version:

Watch out on deviantart for a manipulated wallpaper version of the final piece.

SeeNoGood - A work in progress - part 1

I started with this series for about 3 years now, and it was intended to do counterparts to the well known:"see no evil, hear no evil, etc. So the first part was "SayNoGood" - the entire idea was inspired by the Horror -movie saga "SAW" and fits well in my program of sculpture-with-digital-derivative-option.

In 3 Years a lot things can happen, in my case there is a marriage and the switch to freelancing illustration business. But i always had in mind to start with the second part, but when I used to drop the findings together -
there i was aware that it takes this time to get the right pieces.

I´m a collector of everything that others describe as trash, but these are little gems, which are undoubtful in need to get shaped in order to shine.

First of i did a face out of NSP-clay to see if the attachments were fitting, it takes a lot of trial and error to find the right items and to arrange them to look tied together like one piece. Below are more WIP- pictures to get an account of how much work was involved.

A handful of clay.
Two handful of clay..

Refined handfuls of clay...
Even more refined handfuls of clay....

Basecoat over refined handfuls of refined clay.....

...to be continued...
